| Found this beast on the outside of my pool screen.
Does anyone know what it is, tried searching the internet, but there are so many.
First one is for scale.

Its almost like a small bird.
Bet you wouldn't want that flying into your hair | Neil & Kay | | Report this post to a moderator |

| That's a beauty Neil, but I prefer them to flying away from me
I think it may be a White Lined Sphinx Hummingbird moth, according to birds-n-garden.com

Hey Rosie,
Nice one, thanks for the info. I trawled thousands of pages of moths trying to find something similar, to no avail.
How are you by the way? | Neil & Kay | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| | We had a huge bat in the street by our post office a few years ago...it was one like you see in Disneys Animal Kingdom...we think it go out from somewhere because it looked very sick laying in the road...it was like being in a vimpire movie.... | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Moths don't normally bother me - but I can't help but wonder what would happen if that flew into the windscreen at 70 mph
You would probably see the thing coming from half a mile away.

Is it still alive in those frontal pictures?
Hi,
Didn't realise my Moth had resurfaced.
Yes it was alive, but very easy to handle and move. I'm not sure but i think it had maybe just emerged from caterpillar and was resting on the screen until it developed and hardened off. The only reason i think this is because it didn't seem to have any antenae at the front and like i said it was very easy to handle. | Neil & Kay | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |
