Now that it is coming down, did you like the hand and wand on Spaceship Earth or not?

Also you may want to post if you first visit EPCOT pre-hand era.

I voted that I liked the hand but.... knowing Disney they'll probably replace it with something even better

Some may have noticed the one lone star that was put up way before the wand and wand. This was a test to see how the fixings would hold and I have it somewhere. A nieghbour gave it to me as thank you for helping out:)

I like the hand and star. It will look very different without it. Does anyone know what they are replacing it with?

I don't think they are replacing it with anything. It was only put there in 2000 for the Walt Disney World’s 2000 millennium celebrations, and the real purists have always maintained that it was out of character with the park's architecture. So it may be that the huge silver sphere may well remain unadorned in the future. I, for one, am saddened by the demise of Mickey's arm and wand.

I'm just looking at a photo over my desk here and there is a family picture of us all in Epcot in front of a butterly flower creation with the dome with hand and wand in the background. I think it's going to look very bare with nothing in it's place.

We'll miss the hand but on the other hand, I think change is good and helps keep the parks fresh and interesting.

I thought it was OK with the '2000' wording for the Millennium celebrations but then should have come down.
Glad it's going and Spaceship Earth will be unadorned as Walt designed it.

Don't like the fact the hat stayed in MGM either really, the old view of the Great Movie Ride was fine imo.

I don't mind that it's going even though I liked it. I just enjoy the fact that Disney and the other parks keep ringing the changes so that it is always a new experience no matter how often you go.
