Can anyone clarify if the "ribbon cutting" ceremony takes place at MGM every morning as it apparently does at Magic Kingdom?

Also how early before the park opening time for a particular day is it best to be there for?

It's a while since we got there first thing, but I seem to remember with the Magic Kingdom, you can get the boat or monarail over to the park before it opens, so should allow at least 30 minutes for this before opening

We arrived at the MGM parking lot at 8.35 am this morning and by the time we had parked up and used the tram, the gates were open. However just at the end of the main st they had the ropes up with some entertainers keeping the crowd's amused until 9am. We were on the rockin roller coaster at 9.15
