We'd like to combine an overnight stay at the beach with a visit to Busch Gardens and take in the beach the following day before returning home. which beach is closest and what sort of distance are we talking about/is it easy to get to?

We have done this on a couple of occasions, we went to Clearwater the beaches are beautiful, it takes roughly 30-40 mins from Busch Gardens and it is well sign posted and easy to find. Hope you have a great time

I would agree with Jeanette

Clearwater Beach is lovely and plenty of parking. Have a great time.

If you're in that neck of the woods I can recommend the Salt Rock Grill about 10 minutes out of Clearwater for eating.--I think, from memory, it is Indian Shores-it's more of a chilled, delightful and come out feeling like a king than a pile it high, sell it cheap kind of place-- I bet they don't use that in their advertising!
