Has anybody been on the SERENGETI SAFARI at Busch Gardens. I wanted to know if it is worth the $29.99 each that they are charging for the half hour guide. The information they sent me states:

This open truck tour offers guests a unique look at our Serengeti Plain habitat hosted by a Busch Gardens education specialist. Encounter giraffes, zebra, antelopes, and other African wildlife up close

Has anybody tried it.

The also offer GUIDED ADVENTURE TOURS at $69.00 each. This is described as:

GUIDED ADVENTURE TOURS ARE 4-5 HOUR TOURS THAT INCLUDE ANIMAL INTERACTIONS, PRIORITY SHOW SEATING AND FRONT OF THE LINE ACCESS TO MOST MAJOR RIDES

Has anyone tried this tour. I would be interested in any feedback.

Thanks

Neil

Hi Neil,

Havn't tried either of these things, but I have seen them in operation. The Serengeti Safari looks quite interesting, although you do get to see much the same thing from the cable car for free!!

I personally cant imagine anything worse than a guided tour round any theme park! Priority seating?! No need! If you;re that keen for a particluar show just be sure to get there early! Also there are many time throughout the day when you will find staff showcasing different animal/reptiles, etc. If you ask at customer services they will help you!

We did the Serengiti Safari a couple of weeks ago. Some might say its over-priced for what it is but we enjoyed it. We each were able to feed D'Lily, a 3 year old giraffe. That was probably the highlight of the tour. Then went on to feed 2 different antelope-type animals(can't remember their species). Lastly tried to feed some grey storks but as some native storks were freeloading this was almost impossible. At the same time, we were being 'dive-bombed' by seagulls, one of which left its calling card on my hand. Not very pleasant. Would we do it again? Yes, in an instant, just to feed the giraffe.

Everytime we have been the cable car has not been working and the safari was already booked up for that day. So might be worth booking before you get there.

Interesting.

I went on a safari to Kenya last year with a friend who lives out there. My wife stayed at home in the UK! I promised I would take her on safari but since she hates riding in cars for hours, especially if the rock or go anywhere other than in a dead straight line (eg. motorway!) she feels sick. I thought this trip sounded like a good way to give her an 'edited highlights' type appretiation and see how she gets on. If she likes it then its Kenya next year, if not...

we found that you could see as much from the train going around the park as you did going on the safari. but if your really into animals then its a nice experience and you'll def get really good photos!
