| I note that the TSA have amended their rules effective 26 September and you can now take on board liquids and gels, travel sizes, in clear zip bag. It is also possible to take drinks on board that have been purchased airside. See below for details. When are we going to follow?
"Effective Tuesday, September 26, TSA Is Adjusting The Ban On Liquids, Aerosols And Gels There are two major changes:
Travelers may now carry through security checkpoints travel-size toiletries (3 ounces or less) that fit comfortably in ONE, QUART-SIZE, clear plastic, zip-top bag. After clearing security, travelers can now bring beverages and other items purchased in the secure boarding area on-board aircraft.
At the checkpoint travelers will be asked to remove the zip-top bag of liquids and place it in a bin or on the conveyor belt. X-raying separately will allow TSA security officers to more easily examine the declared items."

Is this change restricted to US domestic flights or does it also apply to international routes? | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Am I being a bit thick - I gather we cannot buy our duty free whisky etc at Gatwick say and take on board? But can we buy duty free booze once on the aircraft? Sorry to be a pain but I do get muddled in my old age and as we are flying next month I want to be sure of what I can and cannot do. The fear of getting up in the air is enough without worrying about having something illegal in my bag!!

No you are not being thick Lisi, the rules are so confusing, but as it stands you cannot tke any liquid duty frees on board a US bound flight from the UK. They do sell them onboard.
You also have to be careful buying on your return if you are transiting onto a domestic flight from Gatwick as you have to clear customs after your international flight and re enter security. At which point they will confiscate your duty free liquids. They are apparently talking about having a holding area, so you can leave them airside, but that has not happened yet | Shirley http://www.orlandovillas.com/florida-vacation-rental-850.aspx | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Nic,
As Liz wil tell you, Rescue remedy relieves the symptoms of anxiety or stress. It's a small bottle, with a pipette to drop a small amount of rescue remedy liquid on your tongue.

| | I "accidently" took liquid onto the plane on Saturday in the form of advil gel tablets, which I needed as I always get a headache on the way over, nothing was said, I also had the dregs of a lip gloss which I was preparred to lose so I could have some form of moisture for my lips, I also had a lip balm, again no problems I had a case bordering on size limits for the new hand luggage and no problems again although thye did grab me for the secondary random check on the walkway to the plane....I have that sorta face!. | CDV
