What simulator next to Montu?

I think it was a rough ride, but it has memories for me, and I like to visit the old faithfuls :)
However, whatever comes will have to be based around the same machinery etc, I suppose, with an update?

The tiiming for the closing of BTTF seems a bit mean to me. you would have thought that they could leave the closure until Mid April after the large influx of guests that arrive over Easter.
Personally it was a ride that made me very sick, but my son really enjoyed it.

It made me sick too, but not as sick as I am that it is closing 2 weeks before we arrive.

Bad timing.

I thought The Mummy was superb myself, an absolutely cracking ride.

BTTF was good, but it is dissapointing when you sit in the front as you can see all of the other cars which reminds you it is far from real.

The only shame with The Mummy was that it replaced King Kong just before the new King Kong film was released which could have been capitalised on.

I agree about Earthquake as well, very dated but interesting for film buffs all the same.

For me add to that Star Tours, Body Wars, Wild Arctic and Mission Space, not too keen on Spiderman either.......I hate simulators

I'm not happy that the parks are going away from rides that people can do as a family...and going in for more rollercosters...I could go to the funfair for those...

Well we tried to ride on BTTF in Feb, waited in the queue for 15 mins actually got to the reception room just before entering the car, then the door to return to the queue opened and we were told not to get into the car if the door opened. As we have not been on the ride before we thought it was part of the build up, but no the next instruction we got was that the ride had to be evacuated!!

Not to worry we thought we would try again on our next trip, but having read this thread it looks like its not to be, although also after reading the thread i may have had a lucky escape, as i'm not the bravest when it comes to rides.

I'm not surprised that rides like this one are starting to go. It's old, tired and throws you about more than being in a tumble drier. We have only been on it once and we came off black and blue. When you put this ride next to The Mummy, Hulk, Shrek 4D, Spiderman and even Twister it can't compete.
It will obviously have it's die hard fans who will get all nostalgic and teary eyed when it's time comes, but I'm sure whatever replaces it will be worth the wait.

Gail,

I heard the same rumour too - SImpson's ride would be great as long as they make it smoother then it is now

Went on it last Thursday, the day before it closed, still a great ride, went on it the year it opened, now the year it closed as well. Must be getting old. Had a 40 minute wait, not too bad considering.
What a shame they closed it, the other one I really liked was the King Kong ride, now also gone.
At Disney there used to be a ride (more an Audioanimatronic show really) called the Carousel of Progress, came from the New York World Fair of 1961 and was the last ride there that was actually done by Walt himself they tell me. It went through several changes, during its long life, does anyone remember it? It never stopped, even when loading/unloading passengers.

Carousel of Progress was still there last time we went to Disney...we don't go much its not one of my fav parks...my daughter loves the ride...
Maybe they are making room for more rollercosters....you'd think seeing as the places are theme parks they would have more imagination and make rides the whole family can injoy...

Carousel of Progress was there when I was at MK in November but I think it has now closed and is being replaced by the Monsters Inc Comedy Club?

I think Monsters Inc Comedy Club is going opposite Stitch's Great Escape.
As you go into Tomorrowland from main street it will be on your right,
Just before Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

I cannot belive they chose to fininh back to the future and have left the men in black. I must admit it did bash you round a bit but still would rather that than the men in black

Has anyone heard anything new about the Simpsons ride??

We are in Florida from 8th May for 3 weeks, and I know of one young man who is praying that the ride will be open while we are there.
