I like the look of this ride, only thing is I don't like heights, will I be ok? I also don't like going on cable cars, is this anything like, is there movement as in side to sideforward and backwards? Or do you just feel like there is as in the old cinedomes at Alton towers?

This is a great ride, but it does give you the sense of flying and height, try and overcome your fears because the experiance is great, realistically you are only about 10feet in the air.

No side to side movements, you do get the feeling that you are swooping down a couple of times.
I enjoyed the ride it is quite smooth probably worth giving it a go.

As the seats are tiered when it starts if you mention it to one of the attendants they can make sure you sit in one that will be on the bottom row when the ride starts so you aren't that high up.

The back seats are probably only 20ft off the ground.

It is the Dome type ride though.

You can always go out before it starts if you don;t think you could cope.

This is a fantastic ride, I am afraid of heights and guess what they put us in the front seats. It was amazing, also funny as when we soared over trees mine and my SIL legs kept shooting out to miss the trees!!

Definitely give it a go... it's a great ride... and I say that as someone who also hates heights.

I found I quickly got over my fear, and went back later in the day for a second go

And if all else fails, you can always just close your eyes and block out the information to your brain that makes you think you are higher than you really are !

Vicky just look ahead and I'm sure you'll be fine, have you tried the Wild Arctic helicopter ride at Sea World, Soarin is much more relaxing than that.

This is one of my favourite rides. My niece who was 6 years old when she went on it loved it too and she's normally scared of rides that go high in the air. I remember queueing in Paris for Dumbo only for her to back out at the last minute when she realised it went up in the air

Jane has a problem with heights but she went on Soarin twice last year and loved it. I suppose the comforting thing for Jane was that she new we were on a disney ride.

I know this is one of the newer attractions at WDW, but have to say, we loved it!! I do not go on most of the thrill rides, so this is nice and tame with a real sense of "WOW!!". My husband hasn't been on it yet, but wish he would go, it is truely a wonderfully clever attraction, one for ALL the family (that meet the height restriction!)

We went on it again the day before yesterday and it's now a firm favourite with us. The whole idea and the experience is stunning. If there is one thing you go on on a trip to Epcot, this has got to be it .

We were lucky enough to "walk on" this ride, when we last went on Soarin as it was a Special Previews only, but I assume it is a little busier now? Much waiting time John?

None at all - it was Isaac's birthday and we arrived at Epcot about 4pm (after being in Animal Kingdom) so we went to guest services to get his birthday badge. After a bit of blagging on my part we managed to get Fastpasses for Soarin' and Test Track off the Cast Member, even though all Fastpasses had run out for the day long ago.

Really made Isaac's day .

I liked the ride - but the feet dangling down in the rows in front of me really distracted me - I guess I have a small attention span

Try and get on the front row next time, that way there will be no legs to distract you!!

For those who have not been on Soarin' and would like to know a bit more about it click on this link to be taken to the Florida Guide http://www.orlandovillas.com/florida_guide/soaring-over-california.aspx

Trust me, I do not 'do' many rides [screamed all the way down on Splash Mountain and thought I would die] but I adore soarin - it is made for 'wusses' and you can definitely ride it. I love the smells and feeling of wind through your hair -there are no drops or scary bits, apart from when the film takes you over a hill, and it looks a long way down -I shut my eyes for that, as I would on TV also!

it is an amazing ride Vicki and it would be a shame to miss out, i don't do heights or motion simulators and i'm like Susan, a wuss when it comes to splash mountain

i did get persuaded onto tower of terror once, but never again!!!!

this Soarin ride has you sat down in rows and then you get raised up in front of the screen, like Susan says you feel the wind in your hair and the smells of the different landscapes you hang glide through and it has a spectacular finish which i'll keep to myself so as not to spoil it for you, it's not scary though so give it a go, you won't regret it

it's a fast pass and they go pretty quick so get to the park early (2hr queues for this when we where out in march)
