| We usually start months in advance with a basic outline of what we think we want to do.
Depending on the time of year, and if we expect some special events like Thanks Giving or the like. We then go through our plans again as soon as the parks publish their schedules for the period we are there!
We leave a few days as rest / shopping days and this also allows flexibility to move the odd day around should the weather change or we discover something else we would like to squeeze in.

| | I finally decide the night before when we are at the villa what we are doing the next day but I do have a mental list in my head of what I need or want to do that particular trip. | CDV

| I plan everything months in advance.
I have a basic plan of what and where we are going and then when the parks publish the opening times I make a schedule. The whole family laugh at me but they are greatful in the end for all the research that I do.
Already thinking about what to do when we go in October | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

if anything that really interests me on the forum i will copy it onto my word document thats say's "florida plans" and then it's all there for when i'm ready to finalise things

| I always have a list of things that we want to see, restaurants to try etc for months before each trip. I book ahead for a few things but usually just a couple of weeks before we travel we sit down and make a rough plan of what we want to do and an idea of what day we will go to each place.
The planning is all part of the fun and looking forward to the holiday - only 2 months, 15 days to go for us and we will be back in Florida again! | Tracy

| | I can remember the very first time we went to Florida, some friends of ours told us to make a plan and this turned out to be the best bit of advice we received. Personally we feel we get so much more out of our precious time there if we know what we intend to do in advance. We always ring ahead to make priority meal reservations for places that we would definately like to eat in and then plan the rest of the trip around this. It has become part of our Florida ritual! We have got loads of holiday plans saved on our computer that we refer back to when organising the next trip!! | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| I always plan at least 2 new places to visit (Deland, Lake Louisa next trip) and 2 new restaurants to try. (I have Texas de Brazil and Villa de Flora ear marked for my next trip). I also try to plan 1 new special activity (Fireworks cruise next time)I usually decide these as I am leaving on my last visit.
Everything else I plan the night before.
The other thing I do is make a priority seating arrangement for a couple of my Disney favourites when I arrive at the villa on the first day. Usually Boma's, afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian and one of the character meals if I have any of the younger end of the family with me.
The time of planning and style of planning must vary with the number of times you have been. If we have first time visitors coming over with us, I plan in meticulous detail because they always say they are only going this once so they want to do as much as possible.
If my husband and I are there on our own we do a lot of chilling out and the occasional road trip when we will stay overnight somewhere. | Angela http://www.orlandovillas.com/florida-vacation-rental-2066.aspx
