| | The best time to see the animals on safari at Animal Kingdom is early on before it gets to hot. When it gets hot the animals all stay under cover. We found from experience its best to go on day 1 or 2 of your holiday when you cant sleep in the mornings due to the time change from the UK.Everyones awake so kill two birds, visit Animal Kingdom early !!Edited by - carole7007 on 12/02/2002 09:28:22 |

| Hi Carole I'm not saying that you are wrong-I've just never encountered the problem of being awake -THAT- early after the long flight! Probably because I force myself to stay there till I sleep-so that I can get into the Florida time schedule as soon as poss! Another good place to go early is the Boma buffet at Animal Kingdom Lodge-go half an hour before your reservation to watch the animals just before brekkie

| Hi Orlandobabe
You must have your children better trained than we do, those first couple of days ours have us up at the crack of dawn.
Maybe I am not hitting them hard enough with that mallet

| We always have problems first couple of mornings. We did AK really early last year and as it closed early we went to watch fireworks at Magic Kingdom.
Then when we did MK, as it was Easter, it was open til midnight, so we got there about 3pm, had something to eat and the lines for the rides reduced as most people watching fireworks (which of course we had seen). Stayed until 12 and it was lovely and quiet. Still haven't managed to do Winnie Pooh ride as the fastpass times were full and the line itself was about 1hr - even at 10pm!

| We've found we all wake up very early on the first couple of days. It is worth going early to Animal Kingdom, lots of characters to greet you as you enter the park, plenty photo opportunities. They also have staff dotted around at the entrance with little glass tanks with all sorts in them, toads/spiders etc., and the staff holding these tanks seem to be very knowledgeable about the particular 'livestock' they are holding!

| You can get past these staff without looking at the wildlife If like me you're not keen on creepy, little creatures, or anything that moves unexpetedly !!

| I am no lover of animals I'm afraid but I love AK - the tigers are just so gorgeous - but I won't be doing the "BAT House" again, they were truly disgusting and so big!
I never rated the park when it first opened but I know think it has really come on leaps and bounds and the staff are so full of information about their animals that you could listen for hours.

| Have to agree with you on several points Jane - Animal Kingdom is one of my favourite parks - I love all the shows and rides, the safari ride is fab - it's just the little creepies I'm not fond of

That's a good tip Carole.
We are always awake really early for the first few days - and so are most Brits I think - judging by the noise from neighbouring pools first thing when new guests arrive!

Exactly! And it doesn't matter how many times you go to Florida - it's always the same excitement!

| Berni, we took our soon there when he was about 1 and he really enjoyed it. And when he went to sleep we walked around all the bits at the end of the train ride. I am sure you will all have a good time | Karen

| Animal Kingdom is good, and well worth an early visit, even character breakfast at breakfastosaurus
but I prefer the Safari experience at Busch Gardens, we paid for the additional trip to feed the Giraffes and it really is an amazing experience especially with kids
This great big long neck and head taking lettuce fromyour hand with its tongue
One of the highlights of our last trip for all of us |
