| Firstly would like to apologise for the delay in the next instalment. We have been so busy enjoying the parks and the sunshine up until today when the heavens opened (all day).
Day 9 - Mon 12th Off to Seaworld for the first time in a while for all the family. This is my favourite park because it seems less hectic. Parked up and headed for the sea lion and otter show. Very entertaining as usual. Lunch was at the beer end of the park (this is compulsory for my husband)and for the first time my eldest son was able to enjoy the free offerings. After a look at the horses (my son's girlfriend is a keen horsewoman and has 5 horses of her own)and the donkey - how cute is he? - made our way to Journey to Atlantis and Kraken. After the usual soaking we decided to retire back to the villa as it was boiling hot and the heat was taking its toll. Ended the day at the Grand China Buffet on US27.
Day 10 - Tues. Spent the morning by the pool before heading to Universal. One ride I love is men in black and it defintely didn't disappoint. The others did back to the future and ET too. Some shopping around citywalk finished the afternoon. In the evening we went to Sizzler on the 192 but although nothing was really bad we decided we wouldn't go again.
Day 11 - Wed. My son and his girlfriend decided they wanted time alone in the villa so the rest of us went to wet and wild. It was extremely hot and sunny and couldn't have been more relaxing and perfect. We always head to the beach area near the lake. After a few hours and shattered by the many rides (I like quite a lot of them but really love the wave pool) we walked around the LBV factory stores but didn't buy too much - honest! Off to the Cracker Barrel (this time on the 192) and finished with a walk around Old Town.
Day 12 - Thurs. An early start to Busch Gardens. It was quite a good run there, taking around 50 minutes door to door. Car park was extremely quiet we parked in Lot 1. The day was hot but cloudy on and off. The boys loved Sheikra (hope I spelled that right) and went on it 3 times in a row, they did every other ride in the park within 3 hours and I think that must be record for us. At the hospitality they were serving speciality beers which were Mango and Lime Citrus flavoured, unfortunately nobody seemed to like them. For me this park has the least appeal, probably because most of the rides I don't enjoy and feel like a spare part following everyone around but they love it. Before leaving we had ice creams with hot fudge and strawberries. In the evening everyone went to the Chinese again but I didn't feel hungry so stayed in the villa for some peace and quiet.
Day 13 Fri. Back to Wet and Wild to please me having dropped my son and his girlfriend at Universal first. I enjoyed a rest by the lake and we met them early afternoon inside the park by Spiderman which I love. After a few rides we went back to the villa and had a bbq.
Day 14 Sat. Florida Mall for most of the day. All of us came away with goodies. Subway for lunch. Back to the villa early evening and then to Old Town to see the cars and then to Tony Romas, ribs for most but I love their chicken tenders salad and garlic bread.
Day 15 Sun. Spent the morning by the pool and after lunch went to Seaworld again. I wanted to see the Blue Horizons show which was new to me. I really recommend it as one of the best things I've seen this holiday so far and really want to try and see it again before I go home. Picked up take aways and watched a film in the villa this evening.
Day 16 Mon. Dropped all the kids (this term is used lightly) at Universal and my husband and I had some time to ourselves at Wet and Wild just reading, listening to ipods and sunbathing - bliss! We met them later in the day and I had promised, against my better judgement to ride Mummy Returns Now once I make a promise I keep it but I really was regretting my decision during the 10 minute wait. Needless to say I had my eyes shut for most of the ride and the profanities that came out of my mouth had to be heard to be believed. I have the picture to prove I did it but won't be doing it again. Dinner at TFI Friday on the 192 (three courses for $12.99), service was excellent even though they were very busy and food was tasty.
Day 17 Tues. My middle son received the last of his University exam results this morning. He is studying Computer Science at U of Essex (Colchester) and has passed his first year and had promised him a game for his PSP so we took him to to Florida Mall to pick it up. I had ordered it on line before leaving the UK (felt pretty confident his would pass). Had some turkey wraps and cookies for lunch. It was raining on and off and headed to Home depot for some boring items for the villa - this is the negative part of owning one but it has to be done. These things always seem to take longer that anticipated. Burgers at Dennys for dinner and a fairly early night was had by all.
Day 18 Wed. Headed off to Seaworld late morning even though the weather was hit and miss. When we arrived it was dry so the others decided to make for Kraken etc. whilst they could. Job done it was my time to feed the dolphins (my favourite thing) and then to the dolphin nursery. Finished off the afternoon with Shamu but had to sit near the front as the stadium was completely full. As it kept raining I think everyone in the park was in there. Cracker Barrel again (I know but we like it). Opted for the open beef sandwich and mashed potatoes as I was feeling a little cold and needed comfort food.
Day 19 Thurs.(Today) Woke up to rain and more rain and it didn't stop all day but we didn't mind as we have been very lucky so far. My youngest son wanted some football (soccer) boots so went to LBV factory stores. We quickly bought those and ended up in Starbucks for lattes and cookies from the chocolate factory. Then headed for Walmart as it seemed the obvious place to go, the rain came down so hard we could hardly see the traffic in front of us and were glad to get parked up. Ended up spending a fortune, CDs, a DVD player, DVDs, jewellery and kitchen items. The family have now gone out for a meal and I decided an evening alone was in order as I was feeling particularly tired. Unfortunately I had a fairly serious medical problem last year and had a major operation and still get tired from time to time but all in all I'm doing great.
Sorry I've rambled on for soooooooooooooo long and will update again in a few days. The weather is forecast good for the weekend so hopefully the much worked for tan won't fade
