| Day 7 - Sept 8th
MGM was Sarah's choice today. The oldies decided to visit Celebration, and Al was stuck in waiting for the electrician.
We gave the old's explicit and very straight forward directions to Celebration and they left full of confidence.....
Al dropped Sarah and I at the gates of MGM and said he would be back after the electrician had been, so to book dinner in the Hollywood Brown Derby/Fantasmic package. We went straight to the reservations desk and booked the latest one we could get ...4.50pm. Normally this is lunch time for us; we usually eat later in the day but hey ho, as we had never tried this restaurant we didn't mind.
From there, a quick check of the board to see what the wait times were like and we were off. Straight over to Terror Tower. The queue was only 10 minutes and we were out again in no time. I LOVE this ride, the whole atmosphere of this one scares me silly before the drop in the elevator so I grabbed Sarah's hand and round we went again.
Next, as we were over that way, we went to RockNRoller Coaster. This is a new one for Sarah, it wasn't built last time she came and judging by the screams she loved it.
It was another glorious day (we hadn't seen any rain since Tues) so we ambled around the park stopping often to sit in the sun. When we got over to Star Tours I left Sarah to go on it herself as I don't do simulators anymore. She came off and we got over to Muppets 3D just in time to go in for the pre-show.
We carried on round the park stopping at everything so that Sarah could experience it all. After it all she announced that Terror Tower was still her favourite thrill ride but the Great Movie Ride was her all time fav in this park.
It was getting near to dinner time so we made our way over to the Brown Derby restaurant hoping to meet Al there. Surely he must be there by now.... We let the maitre de know we were here and that we were still missing one of the party. When we were shown to our table he still hadn't arrived so we ordered drinks and took a look at the menu. This is a fantastic restaurant. It is designed after the original in Hollywood where all the famous and infamous hung out in the 20's, 30's and 40's. Booth number 5 was the one in which Clark Gable proposed to Carole Lombard (I wasn't born at the time or he would have picked me I'm sure )
Still no sign of Al so we went ahead and ordered. It all looked divine, and they do a 3 course meal for $36.99 per head, which is pretty good for such excellent food. No sooner had Jack (our waiter) gone off to put the order than Al appeared at the door looking hot and bothered. He had ran from the car park to get here .
Jack must have seen him arrive at out table and promptly came back to get Al's drink order and leave him a menu. We had a wonderful meal, enjoyed all the more by Sarah as she is chef so very rarely gets dinner cooked and presented so well elsewhere. (Photo's in the gallery)
After a long relaxed meal we had just enough time for a quick look round the shops and then it was time to get to our seats for Fantasmic. Another first for Sarah. If you have never seen this show then GO, it is amazing. A combination of live action, animation and special effects GO SEE IT. I won't give it away for those who haven't seen it yet.
We made our way home full of chat about our day; Al had even more excitement than us... he fed the plants, put up some pictures, and cleaned the garage... Oh boy was I pea green with envy
Got home to find the old's once again in the Jacuzzi with a glass in their hand and an empty bottle on the table. Was there something my mother had hidden from me all these years??? Maybe it was a family secret and they were a load of secret drinkers....
On asking about their day it seems a drink was in order. They had left the house with the very detailed instructions we had given them and proceeded to completely ignore them and get lost. So much so that they spent 3 hours trying to find Celebration and had even driven back and forth up CR54 half a dozen times. But they did find Kissimmee, and another Wal-Mart, and another Mall and even Celebration eventually .
After much mickey taking and laughter we all drifted off to bed one by one.
Day 8 - Sept 9th
Shopping again today - Premium Outlets to start and see how we get on.
The Golden Girls had a lazy morning round the pool, Sarah had a lie in and Al and I spent the morning taking photos for owners, catching up with our MC, and generally doing villa related things.
Just after 1pm we all piled into cars and headed off up the I-4, we decided it was safer if the old's followed us today, then at least they would get to the shops before they closed
Sarah had a good look around and bought enough to fill another suitcase and Mum didn't do too badly either. Everyone was beginning to feel the pace so we headed home and had a snack and an early night, of course they denied strenuously any effects of the drink the night before....

| Diane, you were told correctly, the seats are on the right side of the stadium, but to be honest it doesn't matter where you sit for this one, it's a great view all round.
In fact we sat on the opposite side later in the holiday and we have sat in the middle before too, and it is great from everywhere | Rosie
