Just one of the many that never got away on our trip to the Florida Keys just 2 weeks ago ( seems longer )
The fish is called a Permit quite hard to catch so i'm told

The Permit is a large cousin of the Pompano which are more plentiful and excellent eating. As you say they are quite rare - what did it weigh? and what bait were you using?

The Permit was caught on crab, it weighed about 12lbs, below just a couple more

A 450lb Jewfish, my dad and brother

A 60lb Amberjack could hardly lift this one as i had pulled it up through 200 ft of water and my arms had turned to jelly
We had a brilliant experience all in all we caught about 20 different species inc a nurse shark weighing about 600lbs, i also had a Sailfish on which stripped about 300yds of line off the reel in the first run but alas never managed to land it.
We hope to make this an annual event

Waw! Wicked photos and fish Tony.

Next time I'm in the Keys I'm going fishing! This has convinced me.
