| Today Monday 4th of April 2005 i am off to Busch Gardens for the very first time and being a Lover of Thrill Rides and Animals i am really looking forward to this park. After a drive of approx 75 minutes from Orlando we are there and ready to enjoy all that awaits us on another Beautiful hot and sunny day. As we enter we are in Morroco but no time to waste so we head left for the giant wooden roller coaster Gwazi which you can see below.
This is the largest wooden roller coaster in Florida and reaches speeds of up to 50mph.
Similar to Duelling Dragons in the respect that there are 2 seperate tracks with both being different from one another. This ride was great fun and worth the 25 minute wait which would have been shorter but for one of the tracks being closed due to a fault.
After departing Gwazi we head west to the Bird Gardens. One of the lovely birds that were just walking around this area.
A few of the many parrots you can see here.
Another nice bird just mingling with the people.
Loads of beautiful Flamingos to be seen at various places in this park.
A closer look at a Flamingo.
Just another of the many creatures that you will see on your journey around Busch Gardens.
 A couple of Eagles i think,just chilling.
Lots of amazing flower displays you will also see and this great park.
 Another spectacular butterfly flower arrangement.
A few more birds just going about their daily routines.
After leaving the bird gardens we pass through Stanleyville where we see the soon to be opened SHEIKRAI roller coaster that looks very exciting.
Its opening in May 2005 so i just missed it by a few weeks but i will be back for sure to ride this 70mph monster which will be the tallest coaster in Florida at 200 feet and one of the longest anywhere at around 3 minutes in duration.
One of the 3 water based rides here is this one called Stanley Falls Log Plume. Alas i never managed to ride any of them as i just ran out of time so again i will be back and next time i will get wet.
Time to enter the Congo where there are two coasters with the first the yellow beast known as Python. Well ok its not exactly a beast,in fact its the tamest and shortest coaster at Busch, but is a good start for those who want to build up their courage up for the bigger faster ones to follow.
Ok so here we have one of the best coasters in Florida and my first sight of Kumba.
So my first ride on Kumba and very good it was, with a top speed of about 63mph and a great couple of second weight-less-ness going through one of the loops its certaintly up there with most of the great roller coasters.
Lines were not to bad here so got to do it 3 times from the middle, back and of course the front where the views are just amazing. If you like coasters then this is a must.
We are now in Timbuktu, and the ride above is called the Cheeta Chase where you must have a child of 6 years or older to be able to ride this one.
This is Phoenix and thought it may not look much from the ground it certainly gets your adrenalin rising as you loop slowly each way before stopping at the top upside down for a good few seconds where only the restraints stop you from plummeting to the floor below You are strapped in very tightly and weight restrictions apply to this ride which is more fun than it may first appear.
One of the many kiddie rides located at various places.
Scorpion the only coaster i did not get to ride because the 30 minute wait was to long and i still had so much to see and do.
Similar to Python this is a little longer, higher and faster and again a good tester for those who are building up to the bigger coasters like Kumba and Montu.
Busch Gardens has no fast pass so sometimes the lines can get quite long as was the case here.
Its now time to relax for a while as we enter The Edge Of Africa to see some of the Beautiful animals in and around the Serengeti Plain. There are 3 ways you can do this with the jeep ride that takes you around but i did not have enough time to do this so i did the the other 2 which are the 15 minute train ride which you can see above and secondly just walking around viewing the many different animals that are here to enjoy.
I will let the pictures below take you on a trip to deepest Africa,no words needed from me.

Here i am in Africa with my next destination behind me Montu, which is in Egypt.
This was the most egarly awaited ride for me and i was not disappointed.
I loved this ride and did it 6 times from every position and its now officially my number 1 coaster.
I may be wrong but this seems to be faster than Hulk,DD and Kraken and is a absolutlely must do if you like coasters.
Suprisingly lines were only 5-10 minutes and even from the front approx 15 which is not bad atall.
I think next time i will head right (east) when i enter the park and ride Montu first.
Well thats about it and if you have never been to Busch Gardens before i hope my photos make you want tpo go in the future because its probably the best Theme Park i have ever been to and im positive i will be back in the not to distant future.

| Absolutely super photos John. It looks fabulous - not sure bout that new ride though
I've never been to Busch Gardens before either on my previous trips but its a definate must for this years trip! Do you think it would be worth investing in a 5 park flex-ticket and going twice (seeing as you didn't have enough time to do everything?) We were planning on going and stopping overnight in a hotel close by for the evening and just having a look around the local area/beaches but we could always go back in Busch Gardens if we opt for the flexticket. Any comments greatly appreciated from anyone! | Janice | Edited by - Curly Wurly on 15 Apr 2005 14:47:23 | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

Personally i think you do need 2 days to be sure to do and see everything BC has to offer.
I was only there 7 hours and though i did most of what i wanted i did miss quite a bit and was rushing around trying to do everything before i had to leave.
If there are 4 or more of you in your family and you plan on doing almost everything on offer then yes certainly go for the two days.
Most days the park is open from 9.30 to 7.00 depending on the time of year so if you do go for just the one day you would for sure need to be there as it opens and stay till it closes.
You can make great savings by getting a two day pass and im sure they sell them cheaply on this site.
Good luck and enjoy your visit, you will love it.

| Wonderful photos, the weather looked alot nicer than when we went on our one and only visit...it was pretty windy. I keep saying we should go and visit again when its warmer. My kids kept wandering around asking where the Disney characters were...they were only young and thought all the theme parks were Disney! | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

Best idea to get the 5 day ticket, you need two days to do Busch Gardens justice and you need a few days for IOA and Universal, cant miss Seaworld and Wet n Wild is great?(this is an ideal 1/2 days visit-paired with the shopping in Universal Drive) I have booked the 5 park tickets for all of us for this years visit. | Jan | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| | We left Busch until las when we visited in 2002. We were absolutely shattered and parked out....so it spoiled it really. We had ruled out another visit when we go back to Orlando in August but your photos are making me wonder we should give it another try. | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |
