Yes they do sell gator to eat ( nuggets etc), Has anyone ever had the courage to try this??? If so, what is it like?? They sell Gatorade as well which is a lot safer!

I second that. We had the nuggets and the ribs. It's got a bit more flavour though.

It's amazing what you can get kids to eat if they've no idea what it is. A couple of our grandchildren are really picky with food but, if you call it something else or don't tell them, they eat it without any fuss. If you mention what it is, their immediate reaction is 'I don't like that' and they won't even give it a try!

We tried Gator at Boggy Creek Airboats Cafe-just for the novelty of it. Yes it tastes like chewy chicken-but couldn't eat a plateful of it!

But is it not a bit tough to eat your handbag? What do you plan to do - grill it?

The Old Orleans Chain of bars and Restaurants in the UK sell Alligator steaks in a dish called Swamp N Turf (as opposed to surf and turf) ie Steak and Gator.

It is white meat, bit like Chicken or Pork.
I have however had Alligator tail in the US and that is a bit more like Fish.

Had gator nuggets at Gatorland and they tasted of rubbery chicken, never again. By the way Gatorland is now being renovated. there were two guys repainting the mural on the frontage. Bigger car park there now too.
