Were thinking of spending half day here en route to airport and home, is it possible to do this park in say 4-5 hours?

Half a day is fine, liked the visit here, certainly saw enough gators to satisfy my wishes to see some. Do take in the gator wrestling, very informative and also gator jumparoo.

4 hours is certainly enough to do Gatorland. In fact, they market themselves as "The Best Half-Day Attraction in Orlando", which is probably true. Its location is ideal to start early from your villa, stop for 4 hours or so on the way at Gatorland and then proceed to the airport to catch your evening flight.
