JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There is a nationwide rash of thefts of 9-foot-tall and 9-foot-wide SpongeBob SquarePants inflatables propped on the roofs of Burger Kings.

More than 50 SpongeBob-nappings have been reported from Florida to Utah since the pop icon started appearing on fas***ood restaurant rooftops in a promotional tie-in with his movie Nov. 11. Employees at a Burger King near Palatka are among the latest to report the theft of the $500 balloon last weekend.

Now anyone trying to get that back through at the airport is very optimistic

Not sure the any of the crews we have flown with would notice!!!!

Every time we fly home there are all sizes of disney soft toys and even if people are well over their carry on limit they have never said anything

Oh so thats what my youngest had hidden under his jumper on the last trip home from Florida. He is a great Spongebob fan.
