| My mum is classed as disabled in the UK and has an Orange Badge to allow her to park in disabled spaces.
Is there anything like this in Florida, and if so what do you need to park in one[msnoo
I'm sure some one of this forum must know the answer

| Molly, We emailed the Orlando tourist info re badges and they replied saying our gadges were fully recognised by the state of Florida. We had no trouble using ours just had it on the dashboard in full view. When entering the parks you switch on hazard lights and follow the blue line to the disabled areas, we did this without problems. Hope this helps. | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| The above information is totally correct. UK disabled badges are accepted, without question, in the US.
We have used one many times.
They are also a lot more helpful than the majority of places you would need to use one, over here ... and able bodied people respect the disabled bays and do not use them as a way to get into the store quicker. | http://www.orlandovillas.com/villas/1499.aspx | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

We have just come back and my father in law (who is disabled) was with us. Like everyone has already said we used his blue badge for disabled parking with no problems whatsoever. We displayed on the dashboard as you do here, although the american ones tended to be hanging from the rear view mirrors. I do not know what the official line is on using UK badges though as i seem to remember a thread a while ago where someone was told off by the police for using it. They said they had to report to some sort of goverment office where a temporary Florida pass was issued for the duration of their stay (for a small fee of course!!) maybe someone else can confirm or deny this for you. | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| Mack, This was why I emailed Orlando as I had seen that thread they stated that there was no other permit required and that we would have no problems........ we didnt. | | Report this post to a moderator | goto top of page |

| | My partner always uses his blue badge while we're in Florida and finds it great for parking and access at theme parks. Some car rental companies don't charge for two drivers if one driver is disabled and has badge to prove this. Dollar was one of these in the days before we booked Platinum service which provides for two drivers anyway. | Champagne

| WE also have had no problems with the blue badge, it is for our son who is 10. Deviating a little from the blue badge subject. Went to seaworld Easter 04 mentioned son was disabled and I got in at a reduced price, as a carer. Quite a bit off. Don`t know about universal as we didn`t go this time. It`s worth asking.
