I cannot seem to insert a photo. I follow the instructions (insert file attachment etc) but once the photo has been uploaded - which does take a few minutes - I get a message saying "Page cannot be displayed". I note that the maximum is 97.66kb and my photo is 458kb - do I need to reduce my picture size - if so, how do I do it.
Thanks
Lindajo

Hi Lindajo

If you open your photo in any reasonable graphics package like Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro you should be able to go to a menu item such as "Resize image" and adjust the size to a smaller size. Good Luck.

There's loads of ways to resize/make the picture smaller in kb but it depends on the software you have on your pc.

I have searched for this website where you can resize on line http://www.resize2mail.com/
Not too sure how it would handle really big photo's or how it would work over dial-up but it worked for me

If it is deleted then please DM me for the link but I don't think it rents/sells any Florida type stuff.

Test

I've just used the site above to resize the above pic from 368Kb to 29Kb, it was very easy to do and quite quick (on Broadband anyway - not sure how it would be on dialup though), basically you go to the site browse for your picture then click to resize as required then do a save as back to original folder.

Ah, so it's not going to work then...

Open the original in Paint which comes with Windows
It is in Start > Accessories (or Start > Run and type mspaint).

Then save as a JPEG and I think the extension should default to .jpg which should solve your problem.
If not open it in Paint and then save it as a .gif format instead.

If you still got problems, email me and I'll convert it for you.

Many thanks Brizzle.
Wanted to know how to do it for future reference.
I have Roxio but with my limited IT knowledge a number of these programs are too sophisticated for me.
This is a nice easy way if i want to upload anything.
Thanks
again

Cool, glad you got it sorted.
Nice pic by the way. I can imagine myself sat in one of those loungers (other way around though) sipping a bud.

I have my pictures saved on the computer under "My pictures". Is this the problem why I can never upload them?

Shouldn't be a problem
The only rules are :

1) it has to be 97KB or less
2) it is in the jpg or gif format

If you right click on a photo in My Pictures and look at properties the picture's 'Size:' should be 97KB or less.
If you use the site specified above you can resize photo's down to a smaller size and hopefully then you can upload them to this site.

Brizzle.
