Hiya everyone

Can anyone let me know when we would have to start booking a villa to rent for our trip in August 2006.

I know its ages off yet

and I daren't even start thinking about it really (due to getting too excited) but a friend has said that with it being a 'busy' time of the year i.e. school holiday time I should check up as to how soon we need to book. I do tend to leave everything till the last minute

No time like the present to be sure of getting the villa that you want.

Summer hols are a popular time and already for next year I'm turning people away-so choose what you want and go for it!

Booking early will give you the opportunity to choose the exact villa of your choice and for your precise dates!

We have just taken our first booking for 2006 this week, so its never too early, especially if you want to avoid disappointment.

We have August 2005 completely sold out as I'm sure many owners do and there are inquiries coming in for 2006 so as everyone said, it's definitely not too soon. This way you will get what you want.

the other thing is Alison, you may find that some villa owners will book for 2006 at the current prices. I know pricing policies vary from owner to owner, but I tend to prefer to work as the airlines do and make sure that the guests who are prepared to commit their deposit early on should get the best prices rather than offer deals to those who leave it till the last minute to book and try and haggle the price down with the "anything is better than nothing and leaving it empty line". Its often the case that the last seat on the plane is the most expensive.

I hope you mean you're looking at our villas rather than other sites Ali?

Do put an enquiry on the three sites at the top of each page (do three enquiries as each website has a different set of owners) and then you just have to look at the replies you'll receive of the homes available for your dates and the facilities you'd like.

I agree with Steph.
We would 'guarantee' our prices for such an early booking. the main problem, though, is that you will not be able to book the flights until much nearer the time, so a flrexible sort of booking would be best
