Has anyone purchased new rods in the states and brought them back to UK undamaged, I would appreciate any advice as to how to pack them ie rod tubes etc and also will the airlines accept them as baggage.

I got some new ones last year, Packed into Tubes and they were taken by the airline. Arrived

Did you get the tubes from the shop or have to buy them elsewhere, also did you pack anything into the tubes to stop them rattling around..

thanks

The shop sold the tubes and we packed the inside with paper to protect the rods. I even opened
the tubes at check-in just to show them and they said no problem

Hi

We have also bought fisning rods back from a tackle shop in Cleremont on highway 27 Davenport. The owner was great and threw in the tubes free of charge. They were heavy duty cardboard and the rods got home to the UK safely.
