So, just to confirm, the smile does not get added when you click on it or that the smile gets added to the very end of the post?

There is a smile after the full stop in this sentence.

    Sorry was not clear.

The process of clicking the smile and the box then going away works but the smile does not appear in the quick reply box.

I posted the line in case there might be some hidden code you could see.

If you want I can test any options. It cannot be just Win8.1 as I posted a smile from the same system with chrome

Sorry, I'm not following you. Are you saying things don't work in Chrome as well as IE11 on Windows 8 as Chrome is working fine for me here?

Out of interest, were these problems present before the forum look and feel revamp as I imagine they were as no code changes have been made in the update?

Ah, I see I have the problem in IE11 on Windows 7 after all. Hmmm.

A bit of testing seems to imply that if you switch compatibility mode on for the forums, you can then insert smileys into posts as you can in all other browsers.

For anyone wanting to fix it (only if you use IE11), here is what to do:

    1) Click the cog / gear icon right at the top of the forum IE11 window.

    2) Choose Compatibility View Settings.

    3) 'orlando-guide.info' should be in the 'Add this website' box. Click the Add button.

    4) Click Close at the bottom of the Compatibility View Settings window and you should be all set.
