It is quite common to see manatees just off the beaches along from Sarasota down towards Englewood/Boca Grande area, people just wander into the water and get very close to them, personally I think too close but the manatees don't seem to mind.

Used to love blue springs....especially in manatee season!
Time for another visit I think.
