We often go in June and it's a great time to visit. This year we arrived on June 6th and came back at the end of the month. the weather was perfect! Hardly a drop of rain and very hot and sunny. Yes, the US schools are on holiday but it was still relatively quiet compared to July/August.

We have been in June and it is very warm but not as humid as July , August and September which is the worst month for being humid .
So if you go then enjoy sunny days and warm nights

Beginning of September is also a great time to visit as both the US and UK children are back at school so we have always found it quiet. Great time for sales, too.

    HI

I would go June as it is not too hot and the crowds are not bad.

    Have a great holiday![8D]

I've been twice in June, long time ago now mind, 1997 and 2000.

1997 was baking hot, very busy and hardly any rain.

2000 was hot and very wet, had almost a whole week where it rained heavily for long periods every day, not just the short sharp showers.

We've been twice in June, lovely weather both times, 2006 and 2008, was very warm the last week of the month.

It is worth pointing out that the 'average high' is the hottest temperature reached in the day - normally early afternoon.

The 'average low' is the coldest temperature reached during the night - normally around 4am to 5am.

Not much to choose between the dates the OP has in mind(June and late Aug/early Sep) weather wise.
